Common uses
Handy for counting down to a deadline or event, working out someone's exact tenure between a start and end date, or checking how many days a contract, visa or warranty period actually covers. The years/months/days breakdown accounts for different month lengths correctly — for example, the difference between January 31 and March 1 is exactly one month, not 28 or 29 days' worth of "months."
